I had a somewhat similar situation that ended well for me. I (stupidly) ordered a bunch of physical giftcards from amazon.com on 12/31, trying to maximize the 10x bonus. I had already bought an instant giftcard reload for my account and saw that it showed pending immediately on my chase freedom. So I went and ordered a bunch of gift cards, not checking first to see if charges post when the purchase is made or when it is shipped. Well of course they charge when the gift cards ship. So all my purchases posted in January. I felt terrible for making such a big mistake. I sent a secure message to chase with a screen cap of my order showing 12/31 and all relevant order numbers. I got a message back that they had escalated the issue and to wait two business days for a response. On the third business day they granted me all the points as a one time courtesy and "reminded" me about when amazon actually posts purchases. I am very grateful for this. Definitely learned this:
