Actually, I refer to myself as a Gate Louse all the time - in public, to GA's, etc. I'm the guy who gets to the gate 5-10 minutes before boarding time, and as soon as I see someone else starting to line-up, I'm right there with them.
My wife (sometimes....okay, rarely) finds it humorous when we're travelling together, but I'm okay with the term given it's what I do.
