Asked a crew friend from SQ and these are what they call the "Golds". In fact they are the most senior purple crew when then get promoted for two years to Gold (once the two years are over they go back to being purple crew). They have a desk job for half the month and in the air for the other half. Their purpose is to audit "their" group of crew. (They have a special word for that too - but basically a team of crew all fall under one gold crew).

For the ladies they wear pantsuits - with a golden scarf. The men wear a golden tie.

I assume SQ creates this position to evaluate themselves potential management candidates.
