That happened to me on a MCO-FLL back in the day. They were about to load the bags when the Lightning alarm went off. I saw the cart sitting there and knew what was going to happen. Unfortunately the tampers cannot do anything when the alarm goes off and have to get under cover ASAP. Got a claim and voucher out of it. That's the norm down here. But most of my ex FLL flights now are long enough that the bags are dry by the time I land.
