Why would you even consider transferring your wife's miles, when she has enough miles to redeem for a one-way South Pacific-North America award?

And what makes you think that your wife can only have one AA credit card at a time? Is her card a Barclays card or a Citi card? Even if it's a Citi card, if she applied for a Citi/AA card at least 18 months ago, then she can apply for a second Citi/AA card and get the 50K-mile bonus on that card. @:-)
