I won't argue over the Swiss restaurant looking odd - we only ever eat breakfast in there and tend to order room service or eat in the Michelin star restaurant for other meals. I really like the rooms though, although we only ever stay in suites. I've never had any issues with the hydrotherapy being full, so that's a shame you experienced that.

I very much enjoyed it and would go back, but still would pick other Aman's ahead of it, such as Amanpulo, Amanzoe, Amanbagh, Aman-i-khas and Amanoi. The service just sadly wasn't really in the same league as the other Aman's I mentioned. Both Iniala and The Siam that we visited as part of our holiday prior to Amanjiwo had significantly better service; even Anantara Golden Triangle had marginally better service. Brilliant location, beautiful hotel, great rooms and good food, but there were fallings in the usual Aman service that I didn't expect, especially in SE Asia.

Regarding the flights, it's funny you mention this, as originally we were going to have to fly AirAsia from Kuala Lumpur, but I ended up moving the holiday around and we flew in J on SilkAir/Singapore Airlines from Bangkok -> Singapore -> Yogyakarta. The leg room was phenomenal; I will dream of it when I'm crammed into BA's new "business class" seat on the way to Aman Venice next month.
