There was a thread recently (I really don't remember where) where an Indian national with EU permeant residence granted by Germany was refused boarding at AMS for a LHR flight. After the usual round of FTers calling the OP a liar and a retard, it slowly emerged that he was probably in the right, but that the Menzies staff at AMS didn't have (access to) the right or correct information to allow him on board. Not sure what resolution there was after the fact, but it may be worth reading that thread if you can find it.
