They gave me the option to travel two days later. They would not let me travel on CX or reroute. I need to get back to work so travelling on another day isn't an option without appropriate compensation. This is basically like a involuntary deboard so I don't know why there isn't more done to placate me.
The question is what is considered reasonable fare difference? I don't think $200 is.
Of course $200 is not a reasonable refund! I think the way QF calculates it is the difference between the lowest premium economy fare and the highest applicable economy fare - ie the walk up fare you would have purchased on the day. Hence the refund is minimal.
The table Qantas likes to refer people to is, as far as I know,
not part of your contract with them. You don't have sight of it when you book, you don't have an option to click 'I agree' to the terms and conditions of this table. It's not available to the general public (it's an 'agents' table).
