Currently have Marco Polo/Asia miles; Would switching to AAdvantage benefit me?

I am based out of Los Angeles area and will be flying to China 4X+ this year. I am currently a Marco Polo sliver member and since this is a new year, looking to see if switching to AAdvantage would benefit me. I have been looking over these forums for a while and still am on the fence because of the new changes for both programs. A little more about me:
  • I fly Premium Economy W,R, or E classes
  • mileage accumulation is more important than status (however if they both benefit me, then even better)
  • Flying from LAX
  • main goal is to use miles for EU travel
  • have not been flying AA much (mostly CX and Alaska)

The main reason I am looking into this is because:
  • Asia miles expire
  • It seems more difficult to gain status though W,R,E, premium Economy classes with the new Marco Polo changes
  • I read that AA will have a premium economy class by the end of the year for long haul flights (like the LAX-PVG routes)

Would I have an easier time to gain status back with AA? I could be wrong but I calculated I can get enough EQM's to get oneworld Saphire status with 3 trips (LAX-HKG-PVG) than getting the same status via Marco Polo's new points system (need 600 and would get 150 points per trip)

Are milage accruals the same for either?
