This sounds tricky. If I understand, you want to do the following:

1 award (adult)
1 paid (adult) (with hopes to upgrade)
1 paid (minor)

The child cannot be perceived as flying unaccompanied. Are you hoping to associate the child's paid ticket to the adult's award ticket, leaving you free to upgrade only yourself?
