As far as gas stations are concerned, my Visa in Apple Pay was declined in the shop at a Shell in Maryland. I can see the transaction in Wallet, merchant name, amount and everything, only with an exclamation mark and "DECLINED" underneath.
Oh yeah Shell in the USA with Verifone MX915 won't work with bank supported Apple Pay or Android Pay card, but will only work with a grandfathered Bancorp Android Pay card, while that Sinclair I'm talking about will decline any contactless transactions. Must be the old Ruby super system that doesn't like the newer MX915. I don't even see an attempted transaction on my bank site so it must not be going through at all and thus automatically declining it. Although a Sinclair with a fully updated system which is actually in my city and works with that same bank supported Android Pay Visa card. Some Shell or Sinclair might have FD35 pinpads with NFC and EMV enabled, then contactless should work perfectly there.
