Their year-end status remains in effect until the end of February (unless their final stay bumps them in the next few days), if they are anxious to bump their status for 2016, then I can see the desire, but it's not going to happen until someone in IT launches the sweep and there is no set time for that to happen.
I suppose if I were in that position (Gold, 20+ rollover nights, 6 meetings) I'd call in and ask to have everything processed manually to get me Platinum status. But like I said, I doubt that anybody is actually in that situation.
