Ha, that is funny. You are right, it is as if someone at BA is deliberately doing something behind the scenes
Anyway, the TPs and avios should be fixed fairly quickly and when this has happened to me I usually call rather than use the online form. After a minute of looking the phone agent usually can see the problem too and will send it off to be correctly credited.
