Can you tell us what you ended up doing?
I just spent a few days in Quito and was a little surprised that I couldn't find great food. We went to Zazu for Xmas Eve and it was pretty good, but that was really it. Urko looked decent.
I also liked the chocolate at Kallari Cafe.
But so many meals (La Choza, La Ronda, etc.) were just fancy/dated atmosphere with standard dishes.
