cathay is skytrak 5 stars... AA also get decent availability flying Etihad. staff speaks decent english too. to top it off, you get positive discrimination being white, especially if you fly ex-LAX.
OTOH, are you of east-asian decent? I heard EVA is really good too, which your UA miles should be of good use.
