BA flies the A380 out of LAX and SFO too - I might consider flying from LAX to SFO, but marginal to be honest. When you factor in the F lounge at TBIT I'd take a 747 from LAX over the convoluted approach (can't comment on 777)

No way would I go all the way to MIA for it
