However, given (a) the reply you've got from Lloyd's and (b) common sense, I suspect the use of 'calendar year' is simply poor wording and it is actually based on the anniversary year.
In my experience it is NOT a calendar year - my card started on Nov 26th 2014 - I got my voucher in Feb when I reached £7k since opening. I also asked Lloyds about it now when my card renewed another year and they said I start collecting from my November statement in 2015, not January 2016. So the terms seem to be out-dated. (One could of course argue and Lloyds would probably have to give in)
