Times are changing, travel habits are changing. Younger generations don't fall for hospitality consortiums like LHW anymore, which more of a thing of the past. Many people these days know very well what they want and through social media, for the better or worse, they are uber-informed of what is going on around the world. Companies like Virtuoso hold the luxury flag higher. LHW to me is just a marketing tool, and it seems as if this tool has become irrelevant - people know what they want and are influenced through different channels. They would have been well advised to go down the Lifestyle route a bit more, and add Concierge services, sort of what Quintessentially has done very well. A global partner for high-end travelers, not merely a shiny plate on the door + website.
I wouldn't suggest that Quint as a good model to follow
