Coffee in Britain is always made from the same water supply as feeds the toilet does it not? As long as the feed isn't from the toilet, there shouldn't be a problem.
A kitchen tap in the UK will be connected to the mains water feed whereas your toilet feed is likely to/can come from a cold water storage tank (although combi boilers make this less likely).
