In this case, yes. MR's that I've done in past years (made it legit this year) have also proved that to be true. But the boost is all about convenience. If you don't want to spend the time flying all over the country to qualify, then the boost is worth it. If you are willing to spend the time and can find a better offer (like the disparity you found!!!!), go for it.
