Just found this on our booking, although it does not answer my first question it could well save us on our domestic baggage allowance.

Eligible Qantas Frequent Flyer and Qantas Club members are entitled to an additional non ticketed checked baggage allowance.

No single item of checked baggage may exceed 32kg (70lb) and all cabin baggage must fit under the seat in front of you or in an overhead locker, including musical instruments.

Checked Baggage may at times need to be transported on a later flight, in which case we will deliver your Checked Baggage to you.

If transferring from a Qantas Domestic flight to a Qantas International flight, or vice versa, within 24 hours, the International Baggage Allowance is accepted on both flights. Question now is from the paragraph above does this mean we can take our international allowance onto our domestic flight or is this just for Qantas Frequent Flyer and Qantas Club members only?.
