I am looking into Bereavement Fares and the lowest I could find was $359.50. I then looked at Bestfares.com and saw fares starting at $172 but I must be a member. The membership fee is $59.90. If I could get the low fare posted it would be a great savings as there are four of us traveling.
My question is, does anyone have any experience with paying the membership fee and actually getting the low fare posted?
Thank you

Sorry for your loss.
to answer your actual question

there have been a lot of complaints of what exactly you are worried about with best fares....you pay their membership than the fares you want are not available.

Bereavement fares are often NOT the lowest as for bereavement fares, it is a discount off the highest fare and not an actual discount, buy in advance fare. Bereavement fares also usually allow you to change return w/ out penalty as they are aware sometimes needs change around a death or serious illness.

If you are sure of the dates you could go w/ a hotwire or priceline - keep in mind you are locked into those flights, they are almost always connecting flights, and can leave anytime of the day or evening. so you might leave at 10 PM on a Friday for examole, and eeturn 7 AM on a SUnday.

What city pairs are you looking at? we might have beter advice ...
