Well that would be true. It's listed boldly on the Marriott Reward Events page

You will not earn Marriott Rewards points or miles for any rooms you book for your meeting or event at Residence Inn by Marriott, TownePlace Suites and Marriott Executive Apartments. You can continue to earn points or miles for your individual stays at these brands.
