[The driver seems to call the hotel to communicate the exact moment of your arrival to the assistant manager.] Your check in is expedited and IIRC done in the room. I suspect that you also get a better room/upgrade. In the reverse direction, Peninsula staff handle your bags and accompany you to the check in counter and then as far as passport control and security with your carry on bag.
