I've got T-Mobile and am very happy with it. Have used it in the Netherlands, France and Germany successfully. Coverage and quality is good as well. Since I have a Motorola phone, I need to manually switch to a different band, but once it is switched it picks up all the available carriers and chooses one. I can manually change it as well. Dont think it matters which carrier you choose since all are billed at 99cents/min. One feature I really like to cut costs is to use text messaging. Text messaging doesnt count as a call and I can send messages back and forth to the US for nothing. 500 text messages/mo are free.
