Never had a problem at FRA or MUC in Germany. They look at the passport, stamp it and waive you thru. Customs is basically on the honor system
Leaving is very secure BUT efficient and no delays although EVERYONE going to the USA or Canada is "wanded" at security but still no delays. Watched the dogs work at FRA on April 8th in terminal areas and they DID alert and find drugs on two occaisions within about 5 minutes. A second dog was working explosives and didn't miss a bag.

BOSTON LOGAN INTERNATIONAL DEPARTURES isn't thinking straight. There is one person checking boarding passes and Passports for 4
x-ray units and another dozen people to wand people if the X-ray alert goes off. It looks like a little reallocation of resources is in order. Have seen the "beagle" checking for food once and NEVER seen a drug dog working the terminal
or even the baggage claim area.
