Um, would you even consider buy the Avios to do this? In which case you could open a nominal BAEC account, see if there is availability and buy if necessary? I know the limit is 35k per annum, and you need 60k, but there is also Avios.com and IB+ (latter needs to be operating for 90 days however). It's not unusual to see one CW seat open up 2 or 3 days before travel (and is rapidly snapped up).
