Called about a week ago, asked nicely, mentioned that I get alot of the card benefits anyway as a United elite status member. Agent mentioned no retention offers of my account but said he was authorized to give 5K bonus United miles, which I accepted.

I get a fair amount of benefit from the card, so even though the 5K isn't as strong an offer as past years, I'll be keeping the card opened for another year.
