I want to do the CitiGold promotion for AA Miles but don't have a AAdvantage card. Is my understanding correct that I need to open an AAdvantage card first before I sign up for the CitiGold account? If that's the case, how much time do I need between the two or can I open them both on the same day/same time?

Also is it recommended that you use a different login for the CitiGold account than your cc info or does it not matter?
