And about 25% of the time I receive the 500 points. I think the only perk I do actually get consistently is the late checkout, and that's usually because I simply tell them I need a 4pm checkout and if they protest I tell them to talk to their manager because that's when I'll be checking out. The lack of perks annoys me, but the lack of recognition by the employees annoys me even more.
As a longtime Hilton customer who has the last few years been splitting stays between Hyatt and Hilton, I equate a Hyatt Place with a Hilton Garden Inn with some aspects of Hampton Inn. I only stay at Hamptons a few times a year and the front desk clerks are great (and I get a surprising rate of upgrades relative to other Hilton brands), I am without fail offered the snack and drink and there is the recent rollout of those Diamond parking spots. HGI clerks are in general good with a thank you (plus I get coupons for a real breakfast). A Hampton front desk clerk and Hyatt Place front desk clerk have to have almost equivalent pay/training so for Hyatt Place to not have a similar level of acknowledgement seems lacking.
