I am a senior and not able to run quickly, so while getting off BA48 first may not give me a huge lead ahead of everyone else. Should I just plan to try and get an F award seats the day before (unlikely) and pay for a hotel at LHR? I hope this isn't necessary. And, of course, the baggage connection will be yet another concern- do they really need 2-3 hours to connect a bag from these flights?
I'm guessing that when you booked there was a 2-3 hour gap between arrival from SEA and departure to TLS. This is not the MCT but merely a result of the BA schedule.

The vast majority of people complete the connection formalities (follow the signs to flight connections NOT to the UK border) in a lot quicker time than 60 minutes. ditto their luggage. There will be a security scan but no passport check

There is no need to fly in the day before and stay over night.
