I actually will be in Austin in fall 2016. I'm debating between the W and JW Marriott. I tend to love the energy and edgy style of Ws more than JWs, but not all Ws are built to the same standard. I tend to avoid huge hotels when possible (the JW being the biggest in Austin!), so that leans in the direction of the W for me there. Pricing for both is around $400/night. If I can still get SPG elite benefits at that time, the W is the clear winner for me. After Marriott absorbs SPG into MR, I'll have to re-evaluate.
