Last time, the purser had to act as the kid police while the mom just sat there.
TK is a great alternative, despite less PQM earned.

Yep, that is very true. Had 2 kids in my Y row of three and parents were in Biz. Dad kept coming back to check and ensure they were doing homework, which they were for the 20 seconds that dad was there. Rest of the time was spent kicking seats, fighting with each other, dropping/flicking food, pulling headphones off each other (and breaking them) and generally being right little jerks.
Also My GPU success rate on this route is 0/6 in the last year. That's with a W upfare. At T-24 I checked in and saw 3 seats left, me #1 on the list and TOD's going for $1249-$2499. At departure I was in Y. I am still fuming about the way UA treats their supposed elite customers.

Not only can it happen on any route, but when the options are LAX-SFO-TLV, LAX-EWR-TLV, LAX-FRA-TLV, LAX-ZRH-TLV, LAX-YYZ-TLV - you have quite a number of options ALL of which have at least one 8+ hour flight, where *if* there's something annoying, it'll be annoying for a while
