Am in the middle of my stay here, so some notes, in no particular order:

* Lounge (8th floor) was open through the weekend, including on 12/25. Standard fare, as mentioned in prior posts.
* Platinums can have breakfast either at the lounge or at the restaurant downstairs. Recommend the latter, since there are more options, as well as faster replenishing of items. This is by no means an endorsement of breakfast served at this hotel - if anything, it is average at best. However, between the lounge and the restaurant, you are better off at the restaurant.
* Lounge attendants didn't have any issues with people taking coffee/tea and wine/soda outside the lounge. In fact, we (and several others) do the former every morning and the latter every evening.
* We were upgraded (as Platinum) to an executive room on the 5th floor.
* Rooms can get uncomfortably warm (even though the thermostat is set to 15 Celsius). We leave the window open as much as we can, but...
* ...Rooms facing Boulevard Haussman can get noisy. It was quiet during the weekend, but traffic started at 7ish this morning. Ask for a room that doesn't face the street if noise is an issue.
* From what I understand, all guests in a room are eligible to access the lounge. In other words, if you have a triple room booked to a member eligible for lounge access, all guests can use the lounge. Not an issue for me, but overheard a conversation to this effect at the lounge.
* Most hors d'oeuvres served in the lounge are unappetizing at best, so save your appetite for something else. The exception might be veggie sandwiches that were served once in the last 4 days. Haven't seen them since...
* At checkin, was given a coupon for 50% off dinner at the restaurant downstairs, along with another one for 20% off drinks at the Lindbergh bar (also downstairs). Haven't tried either place, but they were handing these coupons out sort of like candy at checkin...
* According to the welcome sheet given at checkin, late checkout is until 2PM, but the agents at the front desk told me that I was free to use the room until 4PM if needed, and proceeded to annotate my record right away.
* Had requested a crib when I made the reservation. It was already in the room when I checked in. I appreciated that attention to detail.
