Southwest does not care why you arrived later than planned. It is not there problem.
Checked bags curbside cutoff is 45 minutes, so you missed that. Inside, they do not have to accept it that close in. They did not.

I agree it totally sucks the flight was not boarding when you got there. And you got doubly snookered by the 30 minute later line.

However, I would guess the response will be...
Southwest accommodated you on a later flight because you missed your flight (their words, not mine) due to you not presenting yourself early enough to check a bag.

Net, net, I think you will not get any more compensation. Sorry.
