In all my years of traveling, just once. I remember it was in Denver, many years ago. It was a Marriott Courtyard and I arrived late due to delayed flights. They "walked" me to another hotel nearby. The person on the Marriott front desk was incredibly rude. It was as if it was my fault the hotel was overbook and they gave away my guaranteed room.
I called Marriott HQ a few days later. They sent me a cert for a free room at any US Marriott.
