The 10k miles are worth more than the cost of the annual fee, yes. So I would definitely consider doing it willingly. But I wouldn't say "gladly" because there are still cheaper ways to get miles from CCs, with 25k and 50k signup offers out there. The best outcome is getting those 10k miles without paying the fee.
