Well, there's some brilliant ideas there - many thanks to everyone for their input. We may well investigate the Send My Bag option further - I haven't heard of them before.
No chance of re-booking as the booking was made by her company. There's been a lot of discussion on what to take, what to leave behind (to say nothing of the laughter & tears from wife & daughter). She starts work in Sydney just a few days after arriving. How the company expect her to last 3 months on what she can carry is beyond us, but we will manage.
Oh, and sorry for not spelling Qantas correctly.
