If on a revenue ticket, bought from BA, then you may get a POUG - cheapish upgrade to Club Europe. If a redemption, you may want to consider changing the redemption.

For carry-on it's size rather than weight that matters, and whether we agree with it or not, there is sometimes a degree of latitude granted, particular if one or both of the potential carry on items does not have wheels. But you may get an agent who sticks to the rules (not many such agents at T5, but presumabaly they do exist!).
Thank you. However, I DO want to collect and recheck the bags in CDG, as whoever is in charge at CDG have a dismal performance for transfering bags, even from gate to gate within the same sub-terminal (in this case 2A to 2A).

Also, as the proud owner of an aisle exit row on the BA flight, I would not spend ONE POUND to upgrade between LHR and CDG. During the flight I shall be very happy with a glass of water and any whim for a real drink or food can wait until the AA or CX lounge in CDG, both excellent (and I do not say this often about AA).

32 kgs is a pretty hard to reach weight when packing and I was just looking at it for the ease of carrying on/off the Heathrow Express. I shall end up putting the 3rd bag inside one of the first two and shall still be short of 32 Kgs, I think.

The really sad thing is that it is not worth upgrading anymore on BA for short European flights, but that is an entirely different subject.
