A complete no-no on a separate ticket unless you pay for excess baggage.
BA excess baggage charges aren't particularly high though.

A complete no-no unless your carry on is within following dimensions:
40cm x 30cm x 15cm for the smaller bag
56cm x 45cm x 25cm for the larger bag

And you agree to place one of your bags under the seat in front you unless you are in the exit row.
