G'Day all,

Our daughter is going to work in Sydney for 2 years from the UK and flies out next Tuesday. She is flying LHR to SYD on a flight booked via Quantas, but operated by Emirates.

Her baggage allowance shows 30Kg, which is not a great deal to last until her sea freight catches up with her (~3 months). She rang up a few weeks ago and was told she could pre-purchase additional baggage at the airport and was given a price of ~GBP100 for a 23Kg suitcase. We have just rung again and been told it is some extortionate amount of ~ GBP100 per 5Kg!!! Her booking apparently shows she is "not eligible" for additional baggage.

Does anyone know of a way of getting more baggage for a more reasonable charge???
