One of the few things I truly like about the 739s are their mood lighting (and after having spent 12+ of the last 24 hours in 739s I think I can speak somewhat definitely haha). I like how the white lights that run along the top of the windows fade on and fade off, rather than the sudden BAM ON of typical cabin lighting. I also like the soft blue in the ceiling. What I do not like is the retrofit lighting on aircraft. In my opinion, the hues are garish and heavy, not light and refreshing like in the 739. I was chatting with the pilots today for a while in ATL after we had to taxi back to the gate, and they echoed similar sentiments: they liked the mood lighting and dislike the lighting retrofits as well.
