Just thinking about this.... It seems that 90% of my delays this year were on regional carriers. usually for mechanical reasons.

My flight IAH-PSP on tuesday was delayed 2.5 hours due to mechanical. Today, on xmas eve, my wife is also flying IAH-PSP and after a 2 hour delay and then a plane swap, they taxied out and are now headed back to the gate to sort on an issue.

What is the Regional vs. Mainline on-time performance?
