The runway at
DUT (Dutch Harbor, Alaska) is 3,900 feet. Alaska Airlines lands and takes off using a 737-200 Combi aircraft regularly. Pilots who fly AS 737's are specially trained and certified to fly to DUT.
It is worth the trip to Dutch Harbor to experience the take off and landing. We're talking
hard, hard braking! When you take off the plane has it's brakes on and the throttle is "revved up." There is no slow roll out. The feeling when the brakes are released is not unlike a sling shot.
Here is a link to substantiate the runway length.
