It's semantics, but given that we're explicitly talking SFO, the security staff are not actually TSA, but instead CAS (Covenant Aviation Security).

No, but in some airports they do enforce the airport rules that you can only enter a terminal that you're ticketed for (or one that is connected air-side to it). Thankfully SFO isn't one of those airports.
