I received email soliciting me to upgrade to the Silver (which I also see when logging in to see my Barclay's account). I was about to jump on it for the 3 miles/$ on AA when I saw that it says that by accepting the offer, I give up the 10,000 miles on my card anniversary, as well as some other benefits. To me, that means that if I keep the Red card I keep the 10k/year miles.
