What website for COMPLETE flight info?

In a canceled flight situation last week, I got on the Expedia site to see what alternative flights were available. Since it was around 6pm, I asked for all flights to my destination from 6pm on that night. It came back with only 2 choices, one being at 6:15 and the other at 8:15, and so I chose the 8:15 flight since it seemed to be the only one with time for me to make it.

So I was rebooked on this flight, and it turned out to be a disaster, but that is unrelated to my question here. My question is related to this... Later I found out that there actually had been a handful of other options that Expedia had ignored, including one that would have been ideal departing at 7pm and arriving earlier than the original canceled flight. Had this one showed up on my screen, I certainly would have picked it.

So finally, my question: Why the hell didn't Expedia show me the truth? If I ask for all options, how can it come back with only 2 out of the 6 or more that I now know existed? And more importantly, what is a better website to get this type of info, so I don't have this problem in the future?

(Someone on the Delta board suggested Galileo, but I looked at it and don't really like or understand what I see there.)
