Just called to cancel my Aviator Red AA MC and was initially offered to downgrade to the no fee version. Then I asked if they would waive the $89 annual fee on the existing card and they accepted. Nothing additional was offered in terms of additional rewards for certain spend categories. I guess now I have to spend $500 in Dec/Jan/Feb to earn the 15,000 miles I got from an offer I received in the mail.
