Sort of related question. Is there a rule that all the doors should be armed and disarmed together. One time we were in the penalty box while maintenance did a quick repair. They pulled up the stairs so the paperwork could be completed. The FA's disarmed all the doors. I heard one of the other FA's comment "That's not right, we're not at the gate, why are we disarming ALL the doors, it's not safe".
My first thought was that it was unsafe, what if there was some emergency.
Then I thought, even at the gate, aren't all the doors disarmed eventhough typically only the jetbridge is connected? I don't think they wait til a service truck to arrive to disarm, then rearm as soon as they leave. They just link it to when the main door is opened or closed.
