I'm the OP and just commenting on my post if I am not going to get the points quoted it shouldn't say 'points to be earned from this stay'
It definitely could be worded better "Estimated points for this stay" would solve it BUT this is IHG we are talking about so anything is possible.
Re the VAT normal hotels have to show their prices with VAT but if they are classed as extended stay properties (such as Staybridge) they can get round it. I'm not aware of the chain you quote but if they are uk based and are not extended stay they are being naughty
